BGS Titling for Maximum Staff Happiness

Hi folks! Staff here. Thank you all for a fantastic Spring season!

Ahead of the next season, we’re hoping to clarify the way BGS should be submitted (both for newer players, and to make the BGS load a little easier on staff. Y’all write a LOT!) We’d like you to start (or continue!) adding the skill title of whatever you’re doing to the beginning of your BGS.

“Skill name (x ranks if applicable) - (brief description of what you’re doing)”

Some examples include:

“Dream (2) - Sanctum Maintenance”

“Merchant (3) - Trading furs”

“Sage (12) - Rats???”

“Lesson - Dreamcrafting”

And so on. If your skill has a title, please use that!

Letters may be written as “Letter - (person you’re sending it to)” OR “Letter to (person you’re sending it to)”; that distinction doesn’t matter.

Mindshields should all be put in one BGS entry. You do not need to submit them as individual BGS entries.

If you have a profession that involves staff producing tags, such as alchemy or runecrafting, please bundle all production of existing recipes into one BGS entry titled ‘ Production’.

If you are attempting to create a new recipe or recipes, please split that into a separate BGS entry for each new recipe titled something along the lines of ' Experimentation - goal of experiment’.

How do you want entries title when you are using a skill that effects the number of effective ranks?

ie, do you want “Sage (6) - What is Umbra?” and then in the body “this is really 12 sage since I’m specialized in Umbra”. Or do you want that as “Sage (12) - What is umbra?”

Also how would you like BGS tickets that are some.flavor of a reminder about, update to, or followup on an in-game plot thing? Stuff like “I had an important conversation where NPC X agreed to do Y for me and in exchange I owe them a favor” type of thing?

Either is fine! We’re mostly trying to standardize how the tickets are listed so we can more easily assign them. I personally would prefer “Sage (6)” and the clarification in the notes that you’re doubling it with a skill, but either way is acceptable. If you do use a skill that would change the total, please put that in a note at the very top of the BGS so we don’t have to dig for it.

These can be at your leisure! “Followup” , “Reminder” , “Update” , et cetera are all great.
