Fall 2022 Approved WW rulebook changes

(Spring changes still need to be incorporated in the pdf on the website. )

  1. Modify the text at the end of Things to Keep in Mind on page 39, to eliminate the unintended subtext of “Disability is important to a Divine Plan.”

As approved in the Spring:

Although there is magical healing, disability still exists. Druidic power will restore a person to the state that the Realm of Evren finds complete and proper for them, but that state is not the same for each person, and it may change for a given person over time.

Updated:

Although there is magical healing, disability still exists. Druidic power will restore each person to a particular default state determined on an individual basis, rather than to a hypothetical ideal. That state is not the same for each person, and it may change for a given person over time.

  1. On page 13, add after this line in the bottom box:

(You may take a break from game, for any reason — try to be discreet, or throw in a quick hand signal or ‘‘caution’’ if possible. You are always free to bail, but please do not abuse this for game advantage.)

We understand that people’s ability to engage with combat and other aspects of the game may vary over the course of an event; and that people may not wish to disclose their out-of-game health status by wearing a non-combat armband. A variety of In-Game effects allow characters to opt out of combat. In order to give everyone a discreet way to opt out for safety reasons, every character starts with one free use of Repose of Peace. You may also use Repose of Peace as an alternative to calling caution any time you need to opt out of something for safety reasons. Again, please do not abuse this for In-Game advantage.

  1. On page 33, change the following:

From:

Chaining BGS with Multiple People: You can chain with other people, as long as they are using Focus on something vaguely related to yours.

To:

Chaining BGS with Multiple People: You can chain with other people, as long as at least one of you uses Focus and all of you mention in the relevant BGS that you are coordinating with one another.

  1. Clarify on whether having a shard means you can cast it. (No, but from now on, knowing “spirit shard” will let you cast all shards.)

On page 18, - Shard: This is a disk spell. If you are a dead corpse, take the disk and keep it until you visit the Gatekeeper. It is removed if you are restored to life. - no change

On page 36, Spirit Shard (2): You receive 1 red Spirit Shard disk at check-in. You can call ‘‘Spirit Shard’’ as a disk spell to give a shard to a dead body. Disks expire between events. Add: You may also cast other colors of disks on dead bodies if you acquire them.

  1. Add “Control” as a call to the rules, e.g. “Control Undead” or “Control Nightmare.”.

"Control {monster type}: For the next five minutes, the affected NPC will follow basic orders (e.g. “guard this, defend me, attack them.”). Does not work on anything with sufficient individuality to have a name. "

Page 17, responses, says “There are 4 responses to hits and calls…” and then lists 5. It should say 5.
