On Bow/Arrow Props

We know there has been some frustration with knowing which bows and arrows will pass safety inspection. We don’t have a complete list of “these are all the things that will pass,” but the following are the things Staff Center uses, and so they should be okay.

  1. Nerf Elite darts. Make sure they are actual official NERF darts and not knock-offs. Many amazon listings will show up under a “nerf elite” search that are not actual NERF Elites. Here are some links to definitely NERF brand darts.
  1. The NXT Generation Youth Crossbow. These used to be regularly available at bass pro, but they appear to have been discontinued. You can still find them around the Internet, like on eBay, or here: https://www.armoryfactory.com/products/nxt-generation-youth-crossbow-pink-fire-camo/
  • An important note: the darts that come with the NXT bow DO NOT pass inspection. Suction cup and velcro tips will not pass inspection. Nerf elites are somewhat smaller than the darts intended for this bow, but they can be made to work.

  • Also, even though this bow is generally okay, it is not safe to shoot at point blank range. Neither are most bows.

  1. Finger arrows. These can be tricky to get used to, but they can be quite effective and deadly in the right hands.

Players in the past have had success with NERF Rebelle bows. (Note, anything multi-shot can still only be loaded with 1 dart at a time in game.)

We will work on expanding this list as time goes on. Thank you all for your patience.
